About Engineers for a Sustainable World
Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW) is a non-profit led by teams of multi-disciplinary volunteers, dedicated to empowering engineers to tackle sustainability challenges. We believe that engineers, and anyone who has a passion for change, are key to solving today's biggest sustainability challenges. Founded in 2002, ESW is an international network of over 1,750 members and more than 45 collegiate chapters working to build a more sustainable world through technical hands-on projects. Since its founding, ESW has supported over 300 chapter-led projects in 12 countries, including 23 states and Canadian provinces.
Board of Directors
Our board of dedicated professionals come from a variety of disciplines. Not only do you not have to be an engineer to join our Board (nor an alum of our chapters), we highly encourage applicants from fields outside of engineering. Board Members are expected to contribute to the operations of the organization through committee work and special projects. This could include governance, donor cultivation, or social media strategy.
