Last week, President Trump announced that the United States will be pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord. Here at ESW, we want to take this moment and reflect on our place in the worldwide effort to combat climate change. Our mission, to forge innovative, lasting solutions to local and global sustainability challenges, is more important than ever.
Since ESW was founded over 15 years ago, you’ve done countless projects to reduce carbon emissions on your campuses and in your communities. You’ve built solar-powered charging stations, hydroponic and aquaponic food systems, tiny houses, and so much more. In the last couple of years, we’ve focused on resilient communities, challenging you to design and implement projects that will protect your community from climate disruptions like flooding, food shortages, and heat waves. Moving forward, we’re committed to supporting and funding these projects on a bigger scale, ensuring that your efforts are making even more of an impact in the areas most affected by climate change.
As engineers, you have the skills to respond to increasingly complex problems resulting from climate change. Now is the time to increase our efforts to build a sustainable world – ESW is ready to rise to the challenge.
All my best,
Brittany Bennett
